Close Up is dedicated to empowering young people for a lifetime of active, informed citizenship through civic education programs, professional development for educators, and specialized curriculum and classroom resources that help students develop their civic mindset. Our work is enriched through strategic partnerships that provide critical insights and resources, and expand civic education opportunities to students and teachers from all backgrounds. 

Partnership Highlight – National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS) 

Since 2023, Close Up’s National Network of Schools in Partnership (NNSP) division has partnered with the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS), bringing together two organizations with a shared commitment to civics and community engagement. We partner annually with NAIS for both the Student Civic Leadership Summit, gathering youth from around the country to engage in civic action and community engagement, and the Civil Discourse Lab, convening educators to foster thoughtful classroom discussion of current issues. Looking ahead, Close Up will continue to collaborate with NAIS to develop and deliver student programs, curriculum, and professional development for educators, honoring the missions of both organizations.
