Stanford, Calif. – August 13, 2024 –America in One Room: The Youth Vote today announced the results of its Deliberative Poll, revealing how first-time voters feel about key issues driving the 2024 Presidential Election: energy and the environment; the economy, AI, and taxes; health care; and democracy and elections, after deliberating with their peers.

Ms. | Five Takeaways From Watching First-Time Voters Deliberate Healthcare

From July 19 to 22, I attended America in One Room: The Youth Vote, a Washington, D.C., gathering of 500 first-time voters discussing policy issues. The voters constituted a representative sample of young Americans from diverse backgrounds, all ages 17 and 18. Throughout the weekend, participants read through relevant policy proposals, deliberated in small groups, heard from expert panels and completed surveys on their views as part of a deliberative polling experiment.

Young Voters Will Be Surveyed About 2024 in Innovative Polling Model

This weekend’s America in One Room: The Youth Vote kicks off with a feature in Axios.
About 500 young voters are flying into D.C. this weekend to take part in a unique election poll — spanning three days, with group discussions and information sessions.
“How it works: Unlike normal polls that produce rapid responses, Stanford University created a model that aims to give respondents neutral and deep knowledge about a wide range of topics — and then collect their opinions.”
