D.C. & Williamsburg High School Program

Journey to the past and experience 18th-century colonial life.

Through this seven-day/six-night program, students gain a greater understanding of the historical relationship between citizens and the government of the United States. By visiting two of America’s oldest cities, students learn how our nation’s past impacts our present.  

With Close Up’s Washington DC & Williamsburg, VA travel programs, students have the opportunity to:

• Examine Virginia’s colonial history through a walking tour of Williamsburg; 
• See the Capitol where Patrick Henry convinced the Virginia delegates to vote for independence; 
• Dine in one of Williamsburg’s rustic taverns located in the heart of the Revolutionary City; 
• Discuss current events with policy experts and members of Congress or their staff; 
• Engage in meaningful discussions with peers from around the country and debate the most pressing issues facing our nation in a Mock Congress; and 
• Experience the world-famous monuments, memorials, and museums in our nation’s capital.
