Civic Leaders Interest Form
Created in partnership with Prince George’s County Public Schools (PGCPS), the Close Up Foundation presents Civic Leaders for rising eighth graders and rising 10th-graders. The Civic Leaders program provides exciting opportunities for students to develop their civics knowledge and political efficacy, practice critical skills, and meet Maryland College and Career Ready (MCCR) Standards. Students will discuss the issues they care about and follow a curriculum that emphasizes building citizenship skills and democratic dispositions. Close Up instructors will facilitate the program to help middle and high school students engage with their community and take part in persuasive speaking activities about pressing current issues. This is a free program offered to PGCPS students, but space is limited. There are only 125 spots open for each program. Civic Leaders will take place June 2025. Please complete this interest form if you’d like to be one of the first to receive the application opening in April!
