Take part in a statewide civic engagement initiative!
The Arizona Cardinals, the Governor of Arizona, Greater Phoenix Leadership (GPL), and Close Up are proud to partner for Civics Matters Arizona, an annual civic engagement initiative for students across the state. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for young Arizonans, providing them with opportunities to become involved in their community, learn the importance of civic engagement, participate in an essay contest about making a difference, and—for the contest winners—an incredible summer trip to Washington, DC, on the Arizona Cardinals team plane!
Check out this special invitation from Governor Katie Hobbs and highlights from the 2023 Civic Matters Arizona program!
This civic engagement initiative brings together a geographically diverse cohort of schools and students from across the state of Arizona to take part in a statewide program designed to help students learn the importance of active citizenship, become more involved in their schools and communities, and earn credit toward the Arizona Seal of Civics Literacy. Teachers will invite students to enter the Civics Matters Arizona essay contest to win a trip to DC in June on the Cardinals plane!
