Journey to the Rainbow State!

This unique 7-day/6-night program in Honolulu focuses on international relations, within the increasingly important Asia-Pacific region. Students get an in-depth look at the complexities of diplomacy and gain a better understanding of U.S. foreign policy. On Close Up, students have the opportunity to:

  • Participate in a thrilling simulation of the United States in the Global Community (USGC);
  • Learn how countries determine “national interests” in times of crisis and use tools of foreign policy to advance their agendas;
  • Engage in discussions on how our culture, economy, and environment are affected by local, state, and federal policies;
  • Explore the island of Oahu and delve into the culture and beauty that is unique to our 50th state;
  • Visit locations such as the Bishop Museum, Hanauma Bay Nature Preserve, and Nu’uana Pali lookout; and
  • Journey to Diamond Head Trail, relax at Waimanalo Beach, and so much more!
